What is Zemdri?

Zemdri is an antibiotic medicine used to treat serious infections of the bladder or kidneys.

Zemdri can cause serious or disabling side effects that may not be reversible. Zemdri should be used only for infections that cannot be treated with a safer antibiotic.

Zemdri may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Warnings

Zemdri can harm your kidneys, and may also cause nerve damage or hearing loss, especially if you have kidney disease or use certain other medicines.

Before taking this medicine

You should not use Zemdri if you are allergic to Zemdri or similar antibiotics such as amikacin, gentamicin, kanamycin, neomycin, paromomycin, streptomycin, or tobramycin.

Zemdri is not approved for use by anyone younger than 18 years old.
